TORONTO — The Ontario Liberal Party is pleased to announce Han Dong will be seeking re-election as the Ontario Liberal candidate for the 42nd Ontario general election.
Dong was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2014 as MPP for Trinity-Spadina, and currently serves as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development, and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Responsible for the Poverty Reduction Strategy.
“It has been an honour to represent the issues important to my community at Queen’s Park, and I am proud to represent Kathleen Wynne's Ontario Liberal team in the next election” said Dong. “The Ontario Liberals have delivered results for the residents across downtown Toronto, such as major investments in education, transit, poverty reduction and child care. I intend to work hard for the residents in Spadina-Fort York.”
Dong was joined by Premier Kathleen Wynne and members of Toronto’s Spadina-Fort York community at this afternoon’s nomination meeting, which was held at the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre.
“Han has been committed to the community, he works hard and we are fortunate to have a passionate community organizer like Han as our MPP”, said Ryan Singh, Spadina-Fort York Provincial Liberal Riding President. “Han works to tackle everyday issues, and want to make the lives of his constituents better. Licensing home inspectors and ensuring reliable elevator service are issues that he has lead, and will improve the lives of constituents in Spadina-Fort York. I know Han will continue to be a strong advocate for local constituents and families once re-elected”
Prior to his election to the Ontario legislature, Dong spent dedicated several years in public service as a former political aide, and as a key advisor and volunteer to the Canada Shanghai Business Association, the Philippine Independence Day Council, and numerous local downtown Toronto seniors’ resources centres.
